After two days of high winds, rain and cold temps the creeks are flowing high. I skipped a ride on a bike today for a 4 mile walk up the hill and along the roaring creek. Even though the sun came back out today, the winds remained high. Quite a chill in the air. I decided the walk would be more comfortable and enjoyable. Winds continue the next few days. Staying above 20 mph and as high as 35 mph. Temperatures looking like they won’t get much higher than the mid-40’s. That’s April in Northeastern Minnesota.

Beautiful images. I enjoy watching moving streams, and wish we had more of them sometimes. The sound is wonderful, and they are visually hypnotizing to me…like a campfire. Thanks for the vicarious glimpse.

This is one thing we have plenty of. Minnesota is known for it’s 10,000 lakes. But it also has the Mississippi, Lake Superior (a Great Lake on a whole different scale), and hundreds of streams. Living this side of the Laurentian Divide everything is flowing towards Lake Superior and ultimately to the Atlantic Ocean. Get on the other side of the divide about 50 miles northwest of Duluth and everything flows towards the Mississippi and the Gulf of Mexico.
